Lindsay Goldstein-Hawkes
Hi, I’m Lindsay Goldstein-Hawkes, MSW, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and New York, Certified School Social Worker, and clinical supervisor. For over a decade, I’ve worked with teenagers, adults, and families who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck. For adults, anxiety doesn’t always look like panic. It can look like overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, constantly taking care of everyone else, or feeling like you can never turn your brain off. I help clients build confidence, develop practical coping skills, and feel more in control of their lives.
I also work closely with teenagers and their parents. Sometimes a teenager can look like they’re doing just fine while struggling with anxiety, academic pressure, perfectionism, friendships, or self-doubt underneath it all. Maybe there are tears over homework, panic before a test, difficulty handling setbacks, or emotions that seem bigger than the situation. I provide teens with a comfortable, judgment-free place to talk, while helping parents understand what their teen may be experiencing and how to support them. Whether you’re reaching out for yourself or your teenager, we’ll talk about what’s going on and figure out together what support makes the most sense.
I created Silver Lining Therapist, LLC because I believe therapy should feel personal, supportive, and practical. As a mom of three, I understand how easy it is to put yourself last while trying to keep everything and everyone else together. I earned my Bachelor’s in Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire and my Master of Social Work from New York University. I continue to grow professionally through ongoing education, consultation, and training, and I also serve as a clinical supervisor for emerging therapists. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes you just need a place to start, and I’d be happy to help you find it.
